Every year, I have the absolute joy of capturing this sweet family’s annual photo session, and this winter, we met in the most beautiful golden field in Kingsland, Georgia. Even in the cooler months, South Georgia gives us that dreamy tall grass and soft golden light, creating the perfect setting for a winter family photography session that feels warm, emotional, and timeless.

One of the most touching moments from the evening was watching their sweet two-year-old run straight into her parents’ arms. Little feet moving quickly through the winter grass, arms wide open, pure joy on her face—it was one of those heart-melting moments that perfectly captures this stage of life. These are the memories that matter most, and I love preserving them in a way that feels honest and true.

Staying close…

At two years old, she mostly wanted to stay close to mom—and I fully embrace that during my Kingsland family photography sessions. One of my biggest priorities is making sure children genuinely enjoy the experience. We don’t suppress emotions—we work with them. If a little one needs extra cuddles, we build around it. If they want to explore, we turn it into a playful moment. When kids feel safe, comfortable, and unpressured, their smiles are real and their laughter is natural. Even more importantly, they leave excited for next year’s session. That’s how family traditions stay meaningful.

Mom chose a stunning winter-inspired outfit with beautiful patterns and flowing fabric that complemented the golden field perfectly.
